In fact, an RV is the perfect gathering point for game-day shenanigans, and we’ve found some of the best models currently suited to this sacred purpose. Thor Outlaw Wild West Edition
This Class A toy hauler checks all the boxes when it comes to being a great tailgating vehicle. A large dinette and a removable pedestal table between the swiveling driver and passenger chairs add extra space for pregame snacking. RV News: The Hershey RV SuperShow Starts Next Week, Bluetti Reveals Cold-Weather Power Station, and More
The end of the week is here at last, which means it’s time for our weekly survey of the latest news from the RV and camping industry. With the big Hershey RV Show on the horizon, this week has been the calm before the storm. Still, there is plenty to cover, so let’s dive in.
- Hershey RV SuperShow Starts Next Week: As noted in the intro above, the annual Hershey RV SuperShow officially gets underway next week at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA. For industry folks—think dealers, manufacturers, suppliers, media, etc.—the festivities start on Tuesday, September 9, with the doors opening to the public on Wednesday, September 10, and running through Sunday, September 14. This is one of the flagship RV shows on the calendar each year, with lots of new models and floor plans making their debut. Stay tuned for our post-Hershey coverage coming after the show, and if you need tickets for the event, you can purchase them here.

- Bluetti Reveals Complete RV Power System, Groundbreaking New Power Station: The 2025 IFA (Innovations For All) expos is taking place in Germany this week, with a slew of new tech products announced. Among the exhibitors at the event are Bluetti, a company that specializes in energy storage and portable power. At the show, the brand announced a couple of exciting new products, including the RV Solar System, which offers a fully-integrated solution that installs in 30 minutes. Perhaps more exciting is the debut of the new Pioneer Na Power Station, which uses a first-of-its-kind sodium-ion battery. This type of power cell performs much better than the current lithium-ion batteries, continuing to function in temperatures as low as -13ºF/-25ºC. - Thor to Introduce New Motorhomes at Hershey: The Hershey RV Show may still be a few days away, but this week we started to get a glimpse of what to expect there. Thor Motor Coach announced that it will debut new models for the first time, including the Chateau ESpec 19X Class C, the Tellaro Sport 20YS and Palladium 1930 Class B vans, and the Pasadena SV 38DX Super C. Each brings some new things to the table that could be very exciting to buyers. RV Pro has a rundown here.

- Go RVing Launches “Ultimate Tailgate” Promotion: If you live in the US, you probably know that football season is upon us. Some college teams have been playing for a couple of weeks already, and the NFL kicked off last night with the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Philadelphia Eagles, with more to come this weekend. To celebrate the season, Go RVing has launched the “Ultimate Tailgate” campaign, which includes giving away the chance to “RV like a VIP.” The idea is to let fans choose their dream game day experience, including getting tickets to watch their favorite team play, an RV rental, funds for buying fan apparel, and more. - RV Pro Previews 2026 Model Year RV Models From All Major Manufacturers: With the end of the year in sight, and the aforementioned major RV show on the horizon, most RV manufacturers are now revealing their plans for 2026. To help us sort through everything that is coming, our friends over at RV Pro have published a number of articles this week sharing details from nearly every brand in the RV industry. Those online posts share insights into what Jayco has in the hopper, as well as Thor, Tiffin, Winnebago, Newmar, and more. To get caught up, head over to the RV Pro website and start reading.
- Tiffin Teases New Cornerstone Luxury Diesel Class A Brand: This week, Tiffin gave us a little tease of what to expect from the revived Cornerstone luxury Class A diesel motorhome brand. Originally managed by Entegra Coach, Cornerstone now falls under the Tiffin umbrella, with plans to reveal new models in the coming weeks. In a video posted to YouTube (see above), the company’s president—Leigh Tiffin—tells viewers that we can expect quality, value, and service from the Cornerstone offerings, while going on to emphasize that big things are coming. For now, we’ll have to stay patient to see what they reveal, but expectations are already running high.
- Dragonfly Patents New Charge Controller Technology: Dragonfly continues to expand and innovate in the power and charging space. This week, we received news that the company has received a patent on its Wakespeed charge controller technology, which allows a tow vehicle to recharge the batteries in a trailer while in transit. In the past, these systems were generally limited to 12V power, which is often too slow for larger lithium power cells. But the new tech provides up to 48V of power, greatly decreasing charging times. Find out more here.

- Staff at Yosemite, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks Vote to Unionize: We have news from three of California’s national parks this week, as the staff at Yosemite and Sequoia & Kings Canyon have voted to unionize. The vote impacts hundreds of people at those parks, who are looking for some job protections as the Trump Administration’s cuts to the National Park Service go into effect. According to The Guardian, 97% of park workers at those two NPS units voted in favor of unionizing, with more than 600 park rangers, scientists, biologists, photographers, geographers, and others signing up. - Court Strikes Down Tariffs: The ongoing struggle over the Trump Administration’s use of tariffs to tax goods imported to the US hit another bump in the road this week. A federal appeals court has ruled that the White House’s use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act to enact those tariffs is not legal, upholding the ruling of a lower court from a few months back. On paper, this would invalidate those tariffs, but the court has held off enforcement until October, giving Trump representatives time to appeal the ruling. The President has already asked the Supreme Court to take up the matter.

Video: The Forest River Salem Grand Villa 42ZEN is a Lux Home on Wheels
If you’ve been curious as to why destination trailers have become such a hot category in the RV industry in recent years, you only need to check out the video above. It features the new Forest River Salem Grand Villa 42ZEN, a two-story, three-bedroom model that defies expectations. There is so much packed into this amazing floor plan that you’ll have to see it to believe it.

Highlights of this beautiful trailer include two full bathrooms, both with walk-in showers and linen closets. The living room comes with a massive sectional sofa for lounging in front of the fireplace and a large 4K smart TV mounted on a television. Meanwhile, the primary bedroom includes a versatile-tilt king-size bed, while the second and third bedrooms—both lofted—come with queen mattresses. The island kitchen is equally impressive, with residential-style appliances and bar-stool seating with room for four.
As you would expect from a destination trailer, the Salem Grand Villa 42ZEN is large and heavy. The rig measures 44′ 11″ end-to-end, and has a GVWR of 16,804 lbs. It comfortably sleeps up to eight people, and is built for three-season camping, meaning you wouldn’t want to spend much time in it during the winter. Obviously, a trailer of this size requires a hefty vehicle to move it around, although this one is a bit more towable than some other park models, although its tall profile could present some challenges. Still, once it’s in place, the 42ZEN would make a very comfortable place to rest and relax, with nice touches like washer/dryer prep and ample storage allowing for extended stays.

EcoFlow Trail Series 300 Review: An On-The-Go Charging Champ
EcoFlow has been at the forefront of portable power station and solar generator technology for some time now, continually producing charging solutions for use at home, work, and at the campsite. But its new Trail Series models are likely to strike a chord with its widest audience yet, deftly balancing size, weight, and price. The EcoFlow Trail Series 300 is especially compelling for outdoor enthusiasts, delivering everything they need and nothing they don’t.

Streamlined Charging on the Go
Designed to bridge the gap between a small power bank and a larger and heavier power station, the new EcoFlow Trail Series models are the perfect “tweener” option. These devices strip away some of the features found on larger models, most notably 110V AC outlets, in effort to get as small and light as possible, while still offering more capacity than a power bank. The result is a stripped down charging solution that puts the focus on portability.
Recently, we got our hands on the new Trail 300 DC model, which is slightly larger than its sibling, the Trail 200. The main differences between the two are that the 300 DC has slightly more storage capacity (288Wh vs 192Wh), weighs a little more (5.69 vs 4.03 lbs), and comes with a 12V DC port, which is absent on the Trail 200. Other than that, the two devices are very similar in terms of size and usability, with both offering dual 140W USB-C ports and two 12W USB-A ports.
The Trail 300 offers 300W of power output, making it a great option for keeping small mobile devices, like smartphones, tablets, and laptops, running while on the go. Essentially, anything that can be powered using USB-C works great with the device, although its 12V DC port gives it additional versatility. For reference, that’s the same port found in most vehicles and can be used for powering things like lights, portable air compressors, a portable refrigerator, and other items. But because the Trail Series lacks AC outlets, you won’t be able to operate small appliances like a coffee maker, blender, or CPAP machine.

Recharging and Runtimes
Unlike most portable power stations, the Trail Series models don’t come with a dedicated AC charging plug for recharging their batteries. Instead, the devices use bi-directional USB-C ports, meaning the internal battery is replenished by plugging the unit into a USB power adapter, which is not included in the box. Thankfully, most of us have several of these at our disposal these days, making it easy to top off the charge when needed. That said, using a USB adapter designed for a smartphone will work, but the charge times will be much longer. If you have a more powerful option (one with more wattage) available, you’ll want to use it, shaving hours off the recharge process. It should also be noted that EcoFlow bundles chargers with the device, often for free or at a very nominal cost.
As you might expect, the EcoFlow Trail Series also supports recharging via solar power. A dedicated solar input makes it easy to attach a solar panel with a capacity of up to 110W. This will fully recharge the power station itself in about three hours, depending on exposure to direct sunlight. And if you happen to have a 12V USB charger in your car, you can also recharge while in transit.
As noted above, the Trail Series 300 has a 288Wh battery, which allows it to recharge a smartphone up to 15 times or a laptop five times. It will also run an LED lamp for up to 70 hours or an electric cooler for 20+ hours. In other words, while the device itself may be small, it still packs plenty of power to keep you going on your outdoor adventures.

Who is the Trail Series For?
The Trail Series power stations are a bit of a departure from what EcoFlow has done in the past, which may leave some people wondering exactly who they are for. The answer to that is simple: these devices are aimed at an audience who needs portable power, but isn’t running small appliances. These lightweight units are perfect for car and tent campers, hikers, and anyone else who needs to keep their smaller devices running. That includes RVers looking for a simple addition to their rigs, as well as hunters, anglers, and even content creators.
The EcoFlow Trail Series 300 can easily keep smartphones, tablets, and laptops running, but is equally handy for other gadgets, too. Essentially, anything that can plug into a USB port for recharging can be powered up with this unit. That includes things like rechargeable headlamps, digital cameras, camp lanterns, drones, powered coolers, and more. And because it is so small and portable, it is easy to toss it in the car when going tailgating or on a road trip. The size and versatility of the power station is definitely one of its strength.
Priced at $249.99, the EcoFlow Trail Series 300 DC is an affordable option for on-the-go charging. At the time of publication, the unit is on sale for $159, with EcoFlow throwing in a 30W GaN charger for free. Put simply, that’s an incredible deal for a device of this size and capacity. Have a little more money to spend? There are several more bundles available that include solar panels, camping lights, and more. EcoFlow can’t make it any easier for us.

- Prime Time RV Announces New Brand Ambassadors and Co-Designed Floor Plan: This week, Prime Time RV—a subsidiary of Forest River—announced that it has signed new brand ambassadors who helped design a new fifth-wheel floor plan. The company has joined forces with RV influencers the Boundless Bronnekes, who helped co-develop the BONUS38 Crusader model. - Overland Expo Mountain West Welcomes 18,000 Attendees: Last weekend marked another successful event for the Overland Expo crew, with over 18,000 people attending the OE Mountain West event in Loveland, CO. Those numbers were similar to the 2024 edition of that event, with over half of them indicating they are new to overlanding. Those who were there represented 49 of the US states, along with seven different countries, including 347 exhibitors. The next OE gathering is Overland Expo East, which takes place in Arrington, VA on October 3-5.

- Ever Overland Announces New Shell Designed for Ford F-550 Chassis: Overlanders looking to build their own expedition vehicles, listen up! Ever Overland, a company dedicated to building monocoque structures for DIY vehicle builds, has announced the new addition to its line-up. - Lippert Introduces New Furrion Outdoor TV: Just in time for the start of football season, Lippert has released a new Furrion TV made specifically for use in the outdoors. The Furrion Aurora Partial-Sun 2 4K UHD LED builds on the brand’s previous Aurora Partial Sun models by improving brightness, anti-glare screen coating, image quality, and color output. The TV is powered by webOS, which runs streaming apps natively without the need for an external device. And because it is built for use outdoors, the display is perfect for use in the backyard or at the campsite. - Aims Power Launches New Solar Generator: Off-grid energy specialists Aim Power announced the availability of a new solar generator this week. The new unit comes in two flavors—the Portable Solar Generator 3.1 and Portable Solar Generator 5.04—which pack 3075Wh and 5040Wh, respectively. Both are expandable up to 10,000Wh and come with built-in handles and wheels to make them more portable. - Coachmen Joins Forces with Bourbon & Bonfire for Charitable Retreats: Coachmen RV and Bourbon & Bonfire are coming together for a good cause. The RV manufacturer, which is also a division of Forest River, announced this week that it was partnering with B&B to create 16 special edition Class A models to serve as VIP accommodations for weekend getaways on Sept. 5-7 and 12-14. The events will take place at Hunters Hot Springs in Springdale, MT, with attendees getting to rub elbows with the cast of Landman, Yellowstone,and Happy Gilmore. RV Pro has the full scoop.
- Upcoming Hearing on Deferred National Park Maintenance will be Live Streamed: Back in 2020, the passage of the Great American Outdoors Act included the authorization of the Legacy Restoration Fund (LRF), which included $6.5 billion allocated to addressing maintenance needs in America’s national parks. The use of those funds has stalled out over the past few years, to the point that the LRF will actually expire at the end of September. In an effort to decide what to do with those funds and further allocate their use, the House Natural Resources Subcommittee will hold a hearing on Friday, Sept. 5 to hopefully free up the money to address the needs of the national parks. That hearing will be live streamed from the Jenny Lake Visitor Center in Grand Teton National Park at 10:00 a.m. MDT. Interested parties can watch here.

Video: A Buyer’s Guide to RVs with an Office
Whether you have a job that allows you to work from anywhere, or you simply need to stay productive while traveling, you may be in the market for an RV with an office. The good news is, there are now more towables and motorhomes with dedicated work spaces than ever before, making it easier to find a model that meets those needs. But sorting through all the available options can be a challenge, too, as it is often difficult to determine which RV best suits your needs.
The video above takes us inside seven RVs, each with its own purpose-built office space. Jayco Embark E-RV First Look
Last year, Thor—working in partnership with Harbinger Motors—gave us a glimpse of one possible future for RVs when it unveiled its prototype electric Test Vehicle. That Class A model used an electric motor and large battery bank, combined with a gas-powered range extender, to give the RV a 500+ mile range. When it revealed the rig, Thor indicated that it hoped to have a production model ready for sale this year, which seemed ambitious at the time. Fast forward to today, and the arrival of such a vehicle is inching closer, as the all-new Jayco Embark makes its debut.
The Jayco Embark was on display recently at the brand’s annual Dealer Homecoming event, and while most of the details have yet to be confirmed by the RV manufacturer, we’re starting to get some insights into what to expect. The video above takes us inside the motor coach, giving us a glimpse of what the interior looks like. And while much of the clip is more of a tease of what’s to come, it still offers some enticing details. For instance, the Class A model comes with a queen-size bed, a 40″ smart TV on a televator, an induction cooktop, a deep stainless steel sink, and a hidden microwave and refrigerator/freezer.

All of that is intriguing, of course, but our colleagues over at RV Business have more details and specs to share. They were also on hand at the event and have several photos of what the Embark looks like from the outside. More importantly, they have performance numbers to share, too, including confirmation that the vehicle has a 110-mile range on electric power alone. But thanks to a 45kWh gas-powered generator that feeds power into the batteries, that range is extended to 475-500 miles. A 50-gallon tank supplies fuel to the generator, which can be filled up at any gas station at any time. The article also points out that no solar panels are incorporated into the design to further feed power to the battery packs, although the can be recharged using shore power or an EV charging stations. The rig uses the NACS charging port.
Other specs of interest include the length of the vehicle, which stretches 30′ 9″ end-to-end and is slightly more than 11′ tall. Cooling comes courtesy of dual Coleman Mach 15,000 BTU A/C units, and a Carefree awning extends the living space outdoors. Unlike most Class A models, the Embark comes with pass-through rear storage, which is made possible due to a lack of a diesel engine. Interestingly, RV Business says the bedroom includes an elevated king-bed, which differs from what the video above indicates. A collapsible dinette opens up space in the living area, while a JBL sound system provides audio. Finally, a Dometic furnace and a Suburban tankless water heater round out the features.

We expect the new Jayco Embark will be on display at the upcoming Hershey RV SuperShow in September, and again at the Elkhart Open House Extravaganza a few weeks later. We should have more details soon, including a potential window for the RV’s arrival on dealer lots and an MSRP, which RV Business says is rumored to be around $460,000.
As of now, Jayco doesn’t have any information regarding this new RV on its website, but keep an eye on jayco.com for future updates.
