RV News: Airstream and Ember Updates for 2026, Grounded’s New E-RV, and Much More
Despite it being a shortened week due to the July 4th holiday, there is plenty of RV news to share from the past seven days and beyond. So as we head off for a long weekend, here are a few things to have on your radar.

- Airstream Announces 2026 Motorhome Upgrades: Airstream has announced a slew of new updates coming to its 2026 Atlas and Interstate motorhomes. Those upgrades include the inclusion of the company’s Advanced Power System—which comes with 10,300Wh self-heating lithium batteries—as standard equipment. The new models will come with a 1,000W single-burner induction cooktop, a 3,000W inverter, a 40-amp in-vehicle battery charger, a Victron SmartShunt for solar monitoring, a Victron BlueSolar charge controller, and a marine-grade alternator and regulator. All in all, some substantial improvements over previous models, making the Atlas and Interstate more off-grid ready.

- Ember RV Shares 2026 Updates, Too: Airstream isn’t the only RV brand sharing updates for its 2026 models. Ember RV has also announced new features for its excellent Overland Series models, with highlights including 1,200W of solar standard, a 3,000W Victron inverter and Cerbo GX communication center, 270Ah deep-cycle Battle Born batteries, and no less than three Victron Bluetooth MPPT controllers. The new rigs will also offer side and rooftop solar ports for easy upgrades, and include a REDARC DC-to-DC trailer battery charger. The inside gets some nice bumps, too, including solid surface countertops in the kitchen and bathroom, a square stainless steel kitchen sink with a cutting board, a new shower with built-in shelf, and an upgraded 10.6-cubic-foot 12v refrigerator. - Pebble Ships First Flow Electric Travel Trailers: RV start-up Pebble reached a major milestone this week by shipping the first full-production models of its all-electric travel trailer to buyers. The company announced that it had delivered several Pebble Flow Founder Edition towables to early backers, with a promise to ramp up production throughout the rest of the year. And as a bonus, a new feature called “Auto Dump” that takes the drudgery out of emptying your black tank. Read more here.

- Grounded Launches G3 Electric Camper Van: It was a big week for electric RVs, as Detroit-based Grounded revealed its G3 e-camper van. The company has been manufacturing e-RVs for a couple of years now, with its G1 and G2 models debuting in 2023. Its latest vehicle is built on the Chevy BrightDrop platform and has a range of 286 miles. It also comes with all-wheel drive, fast-charging capabilities, and a modular interior that can be configured to suit your needs. GearJunkie has the skinny on this promising new EV here.

- Rossmönster Reveals Havn Off-Road Camper Model: Rossmönster is a specialty RV manufacturer with a focus on off-road, off-grid adventures. That’s why it is so appropriate that the brand announced a new model at last week’s Overland Expo PNW. The new Havn rig rides on a 24-foot Mercedes 3500 chassis with all-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, and other rugged features. It also sports a queen-size bed, hydronic heated flooring, 800W solar panels, and a 1,000Ah lithium battery. Check it out here.

- Hughes Autoformers Changes Name to Power Watchdog: Big news from the RV accessories space this week, as Hughes Autoformers announced a name change to match its signature product. Moving forward, the company will be known as Power Watchdog, a nod to its line of outstanding surge protectors and voltage boosters for use at RV campsites. The identity change comes with the introduction of the new Watchdog Power Center, a device that promises to be the “end-all-be-all of RV power protection.”

- REV Group Sells Lance Camper: Late last week, REV Group—the manufacturer behind such brands as Renegade, Fleetwood, and Holiday Rambler—announced the sale of Lance Camper to Vision Kore, Inc. The move signals REV’s exit from the non-motorized RV space, allowing it to focus more tightly on Class A, B, and C models. Lance will also continue producing towables and truck campers, now under the management of Vision Kore.

- Winnebago Says More Women are Participating in Outdoor Activities: A new survey conducted by Winnebago Industries reveals that 52% of women plan to increase their outdoor activity levels in 2025. That’s up 6% compared to last year, with 55% of respondents saying they spent more than six hours a week outside. Spending time in nature is both physically and mentally good for us, and it seems more women are embracing those positive benefits. - General RV Now Sells E-Bikes: In yet another sign that e-bikes have become incredibly popular with RVers, General RV announced this week that it will begin selling Blaupunkt models in its 23 stores. The bikes feature a folding frame for easy storage and weigh just 47 pounds, which is fairly svelte for an e-bike. Check them out here.
- Overland Expo PNW Welcomes 16,000 Attendees: 2025 continues to be a good year for the Overland Expo events. Last week, the Pacific Northwest Edition (PNW) took place in Redmond, OR, where more than 16,000 people were in attendance. And in a further nod to how popular overlanding has become, those attendees hailed from 48 states and nine countries. Those are pretty impressive numbers for one of the regional Overland Expo shows.

Pebble Flow Electric Travel Trailer Now in Production
The Pebble Flow electric travel trailer hit a major milestone this week, as the company has announced that production has commenced on the high-tech towable. The first models have hit the assembly line at Pebble’s 60,000-square-foot facility in Fremont, CA, with initial deliveries on track for later this spring.

Designed for camping on and off-grid, the Pebble Flow is built on a lightweight and sturdy aluminum frame. The trailer uses a variety of composite and sustainable materials to exceed industry standards for durability, while delivering a living experience unlike any other. That includes coming with a 45kWh house battery that connects to an optional 1.1kW solar panels, creating true energy independence at the campsite. Other optional features include a sleek, modern interior, a smart hitch that automatically connects to a tow vehicle, and an electric powertrain that helps propel it down the highway and slide into a campsite.
The first production models to roll of the assembly line will be the Pebble Flow Founders Edition. This version of the all-electric travel trailer includes all of the available features and comes with exclusive paint options and badging. It also grants unlimited roadside assistance for life, and grants membership to the exclusive Founders Club, with perks like priority software updates and invites to special events.

The Rivian x iKamper Skycamp Mini is a Rooftop Tent for Your Electric Truck
Here at RV.com, we love it when two of our favorite brands come together to create new camping gear. So naturally, we were delighted when we heard electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian was joining forces with rooftop tent maker iKamper to create a new model. The result of that collaboration is called the Rivian x iKamper Skycamp Mini, which is an iteration of one of the best rooftop tents on the market specifically made for the R1T electric pickup truck and the R1S SUV.

The iKamper Skycamp 3.0 Mini
The Rivian x iKamper collab starts with the Skycamp 3.0 Mini rooftop tent. Not only is this model compact and lightweight, when not in use, it offers a low, aerodynamic profile, too. This combination of characteristics makes it ideal for an electric vehicle, as the weight and size have less of an impact on range.
But the Skycamp 3.0 Mini also happens to be an outstanding rooftop tent, too. The camp shelter offers room for two people, is durable enough to stand up to the elements, and can be deployed in under a minute. It is also designed for four-season use, with a cozy, quilted interior, and a nine-zone mattress designed for camping in a wide variety of weather conditions. The smaller Mini is also great on short-bed pick-up trucks, like the R1T, offering a safe and roomy place to camp without impeding bed storage space.

Rivian-Specific Features
Of course, the Skycamp 3.0 Mini fits on a wide variety of vehicles, both electric and gas-powered. But as part of the Rivian x iKamper partnership, the two brands added a few additional features to help this specific model stand out. For instance, the special edition version of the rooftop tent comes in exclusive colors and includes Rivian branding. It also comes with mounting brackets that integrate with Rivian’s Adventure Key Set for added security.
The tent is made from a breathable blackout polycotton canvas material and includes a removable rainfly, giving it added versatility in a variety of climates. It also comes with a version-specific foam mattress that is reportedly cushier and more comfortable than the one included with the standard Skycamp 3.0 Mini. The Rivian version of the tent also has a lighter, more aerodynamic shell to further reduce drag and keep range as high as possible.

Road Icon: The International Scout is the Grand Father of Modern SUVs
When the first International Harvester Scout rolled off the assembly line 64 years ago, the term “sport utility vehicle” was not yet part of America’s automotive lexicon. Equipped with four-wheel drive, beefy suspension and only two doors, the original Scouts were rugged—designed for hard work on the farm and harder miles off-road.Available with a truck bed or a full-length hardtop, the often-two-toned Scouts had few peers outside of military-inspired Jeeps of the era. In some ways, International Harvester—which mostly built commercial agricultural and trucking equipment—created the template every SUV has copied since. And before Scout was discontinued in 1980, they also spawned a cult following.

By the time Ryan Duvall moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1999, the newspaper columnist was nostalgic for the 1974 Scout II he’d driven in high school. At that point, he wasn’t aware he’d landed in the city where the original Scouts were built. But when he saw an uncanny number of them around town, he tracked down a 1976 Scout Traveler for himself and began researching the origins.He connected with other Scout owners and former employees, and in 2019 organized a meetup for International Harvester drivers. Today, he runs Harvester Homecoming and is creating a museum to honor Fort Wayne’s truck-building history. The nonprofit also hosts an annual festival that attracts upwards of 20,000 people and 500 vehicles. “I thought, the things that happened here, we should be honoring,” Duvall says. “Honoring these amazing Scouts.”Today, the community he brought together has reason to celebrate. In 2021, Volkswagen Group acquired Navistar (which had bought International Harvester in the ’80s), and launched Scout Motors—an independent American company promising a resurrection of the iconic brand.

The Scout Motors team sought out enthusiasts like Duvall as they prepared to launch two new vehicles, which they officially unveiled in October 2024. “We wanted to create something that felt like the original vehicle,” says Chris Benjamin, chief design officer for Scout Motors. “Something original owners would look at and say: ‘That’s a Scout.’”The new Scout will be available to consumers in 2027 in two models: an SUV (the “Traveler”) and pickup (the “Terra”), both modern electric vehicles that honor their predecessors. With 35-inch tires, low front overhang and slanted rear windows, the new Scouts are unmistakably nodding to the past. The Scout Motors team even invited Duvall and other owners to the reveal event in Franklin, Tennessee.“I had tempered my expectations. I was buckled up for something way newer than it was old,” Duvall says. “But I was wrong. I was emotional when they pulled them out. They hit a home run.”

Pebble Reveals Production-Ready All-Electric Pebble Flow Travel Trailer at CES
At last year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, we had the chance to go inside the Pebble Flow—an all-electric travel trailer with plenty of high-tech features and amenities. And while that model was an early prototype of the futuristic towable, we came away very impressed by what we saw. Now, one year later, the RV has just hit a major milestone, as the company has revealed a production-intent version, signaling that the Pebble Flow is ready to hit the road.

The latest version of the travel trailer will make its official debut tomorrow (January 7) on the CES show floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This version has undergone a number of revisions and refinements based on in-house development and testing, along with consumer feedback. As a result, the Pebble Flow is now ready to go into production with the first models delivering to customers later this spring.“The production-intent Pebble Flow marks a significant milestone in our journey to redefine RV travel,” says Pebble CEO Bingrui Yang in a press release. “From the initial concept to our first prototype and now the fully realized product, we have poured our passion and expertise into every stage of its creation. This process has been about addressing the real challenges RVers face while incorporating thoughtful design and cutting-edge features. This product embodies the creativity of the Pebble team and we can’t wait to see it on the road soon.”

The Pebble Flow’s signature features include a 45kWh lithium battery pack and a 1.1kW solar array, which provide enough energy to camp off-grid for up to seven days. The interior is spacious, modern, and airy, with large windows that provide plenty of natural light and open to let the breeze flow in. The production-ready version has a more aerodynamic design compared to the prototype and comes with a factory-installed motorized awning and four exterior cameras to assist with maneuvering and parking.The standard version of the Pebble Flow offers a refined and comfortable camping experience, but customers can elect to upgrade their rigs by adding the optional Magic Pack. This adds dual electric motors to the travel trailer that brings Active Tow Assist functionality to help propel it down the road, easing the demand put on the tow vehicles. Other Magic Pack features include Magic Hitch for faster and easier hitching and Instacamp, which automatically deploys or retracts the stairs, stabilizers, and levelers when arriving or departing the campsite. You can even move the Pebble in and out of tight spots using a remote control feature.

Other notable features include a flexible interior space that quickly transforms from a mobile workstation to a relaxing environment as needed. A queen-size Murphy bed serves as the primary sleep area, while the multi-functional dinette converts into a second bed for guests. The kitchen comes equipped with a removable induction cooktop, a four-in-one convection microwave, and a full-size refrigerator. A spa-inspired bathroom is both beautiful and functional, providing a residential feel even when boondocking.“Our team has worked incredibly hard to make these improvements to the design of our Pebble Flow, and this won’t be all,” says Chief Technology Officer Stefan Solyom. “We’ve intentionally made the Pebble Flow a software-defined vehicle. This allows us to implement new features and updates seamlessly through over-the-air (OTA) updates. We’ll be able to surprise and delight users for years to come.”

The Pebble Flow is set to go into production early this year, with the first models shipping to customers in the spring. Pricing starts at $109,500 for the base model and $135,500 with the Magic Pack. A Founders Edition model featuring all upgrades and features, plus the option to select a limited-edition paint color, will be available for $175,000. All prices are before federal and state tax credits, which could potentially bring the price down further.
